City Affiliates

City Affiliates

IABA established City Affiliates to increase the level of participation and activity of IABA members locally. The City Affiliates allow members the opportunity to meet more frequently and participate in carrying out IABA initiatives at a local level.

Currently, we have City Affiliates in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Philadelphia, Hartford, New York, the Ohio Region, and Washington, D.C. Although our City Affiliates are geographically diverse, they all share a common theme of service.

Some of our Affiliate activities include:

  • Coordinating study groups for local exam takers
  • Active participation in the Mentoring Program
  • “Adopt-a-School” partnerships with Mathematics Departments of local public schools
  • The IABA “Rap Session” - a city-wide symposium for high school students to learn more about the field of actuarial science.
